Dallas Zoo!

Today Gramz and I took Ryleigh to the Dallas Zoo. She's been talking about the train ride we took last year at the Ft. Worth Zoo ever since then. So I decided to take her to the Zoo again but to the Dallas Zoo this year.

I made sure they had a train before we went but because of the heat they closed the ride at 1:00. We didn't get over to it till 2:30! Needless to say I was just as upset as my two year old! Their "train ride" is actually a monorail that gives you a bird's eye view of the park. It would have been neat to see. Gramz made the tears spot by getting her an Icee and we told her that there would be a monorail for her to ride at Disney World. So instead of being upset anymore she was happy to have the Icee and tell us, from a two year old perspective,  how "the train was closed."

Here's pictures from our trip to the Zoo!

In her wagon all ready to go see some animals.

At the front gate

In front of the butterfly exhibit

Looking at the BIG turtles!

Hi there Mr. Rhino!

Alligators!

Looking at the otters

The next few pictures are from the Children's Zoo.
It was really neat. They had a barn with pigs, rabbits, and horses. There was a goat petting exhibit and in the middle there was a playground with a splash pad.

the GIANT Rabbit!

Petting the horse.
She wanted to take a pony ride but Tuesdays are their "Rest Day" :(

Looking at the koi fish

"I like them, they're neat!" ~ Ryleigh

Sitting on the wooden ponies

Walking over the pond where the ducks were.

She wanted to walk over it again she saw them taking a bath. One of them did a "head stand". She said "Mommy you can do that in the pool!"

With the Goats! She wanted to pet them for about two seconds and then wanted me to pick her up again.

Here we are heading over to the other side of the Zoo looking for the "train"

Looking at the penguins

 Riding an elephant!

The elephants were really close!

The giraffes! They were standing right by the rail!

For $5 you could get some lettuce to feed them. It was really neat! This was Jade.

Ryleigh didn't want to get too close.

While eating lunch I looked inside this restaurant and realized the glass window looked into the Lions cage! Four loins came up and sat down right by the glass! Ryleigh really liked them.

After the lions we found the monorail but it was closed. It was so hot and by this time it was 2:30. We decided to call it a day and go home. We stopped by the penguins again for another photo while enjoying the Icee.

Before we left we look two rides on the carousel. The first time we rode on the bench.

The next time we rode in the bird's nest. It spun around like the Tea Cups at Disney World. She loved it!

Our last stop was the gift shop where Ryleigh found the giraffe mask. We didn't get it but we did get a shirt and some monkey stickers.

On the way out the gate Ryleigh went over to this bench and said "Mom come take my picture!" So I did. I'll take every opportunity I can to take her picture.

This is a fish she made at the Children's Zoo

We arrived at the Zoo around 12:00 and left around 3:00. This was the last year she will get into the Zoo for free. Once she's three she'll cost $9! Adult tickets were $12. I'm glad we brought our own lunch I can only imagine how much eating their food would be!

She had a great time! She talked about it all the way home. Then when she was talking to Daddy on the phone she told him "It was really cool"
