While Mommy was Having Surgery...

On Wednesday, May 9 I was admitted to the hospital for my major surgery and had a procedure done on my kidney to get me ready for surgery the next day. While I was at the hospital Aunt Kathleen, Kristin, Jackson and Reagan came to visit the girls.

Jackson joined the girls for this photo but wasn't happy about it. I imagine it's difficult getting this many kids under the age of 4 to pose for a picture.

That evening I was in A LOT of pain. They changed out my nephrostomy bag to a larger bag, the ones used for a cathiter, and placed a wire in the tube that went all the way down to my bladder. The wire was poking me and causing me so much pain nothing was helping my pain go away.

Brandon had to go home to get a bag for the night and sent this picture while at home.
I was moved to the 4th floor around 9:00 to a nurse who was not very simpathic. She could tell I was in pain (I had been crying for hours) and still didn't show and compassion. Finally, around 11:00 I was given some pain meds that started to help a little so I was able to get some sleep.

The next day I had surgery on my kidney. I finally got the calified stint removed along with all the stones in my left kidney. The larger nephrostmy bag was left in there to help my kidney heal. (It ended up doing me more harm than good but that's another story I'll tell you about later)

My mom took off work and stayed with the girls Thursday and Friday. She sent me these pictures of the girls to make me smile.

She curled her hair!

Ryleigh loves playing dress up and practicing for her dance recital that's coming up. She found my old dance costumes and practiced her dance wearing them.
I came home Saturday from the hostpial and she insisted on wearing this for the rest of the day.
