On Friday, June 17 at 6:30AM we arrived at Centennial Medical Center for Ryleigh's surgery. We were met by Gramz, Papa, Great Grammy and Aunt Cecile. Ryleigh was ok untilbf the ladies tried to put the ID bracelet on her arm. She took it right off and did the same with the one on her leg. After 4 tries they got it on her tight enough.
Here she is with her Aunt Cecile and her doll Rory who was also getting her tonsils removed.
I could tell she was starting to get a little nervous once they took us back. Grandma showed up once we were back there. Here they gave her some medicine to relax her. She only swallowed a little bit and the rest went all over me and her. So we had to change her from her Ariel PJs to her Tangled PJs.

It wasn't long after we changed her clothes that they came a took her away. We weren't prepared for them to just take her off like that crying down the hallway. I think that was the hardest part for me. It only took an hour and we were able to go back and see her in the recovery room.
This is her in the recovery room.
She was very calm for the first 15-20 minutes we were down there. Once she saw her hand wrapped up with the IV she started to freak out and cry. Once she calmed down I rode on the bed with her to room.
Getting situated in her bed.
Within 10 minutes of being in her room she started coloring with Aunt Cecile
and putting on lip stick.
This is the balloon and kitty, "Shadow", that Grandma gave her.
This is the monkey, "Coconut", that Coco and Kai Kai gave her.
She had many visitors and received many gifts. She had fun playing with all of them during her time in the hospital.
Here I was hoping she would take a nap but no such luck.
My mom let us borrow her portable DVD player so she could watch movies. We watched: "Tangled", "Despicable Me", "Enchanted", and "The Little Mermaid"
Playing with some of the cards from Gramz and Papa.
Putting together the Princess Puzzle from Great Grammy and Aunt Cecile.
She put it together all by herself on the second time!
Playing with her Tangled Doll
Drink up little girl!
That night was hard for her to fall asleep. Even though she had been up since 6:00AM with no nap. She finally feel asleep around 8:40. The nurse came in every four hours to bring her medicine that she didn't like. I slept with Ryleigh in the bed and Brandon was on the reclining chair.
At 8:30 Dr. Huang came in and released her from the hospital. By 9:30 we were on our way home!
Waiting to leave!
When we arrived home Gramz, Great Grammy and Aunt Cecile had decorated her room with a dozen balloons!
And a sign!
The doctor wants her to stay inside for the next 7 days! We have TONS of games and activities to do thanks to all the presents!
I'm surprised at how well she has been doing. She was really upbeat on the day of the surgery. She has been taking the medicines pretty good. There have only been a few struggles. She's eating and drinking and keeping everything down. I couldn't have asked for it to go any smoother. I'm glad the hard part is over and she's on her way to recovery!
