Christmas Tea

Every year around Christmas time we go have tea and lunch with Great-Grammy and Gramz. This Aunt Cecile joined us. We had lots of fun. Next year we'll have baby Reese with us!

Ryleigh got a tea pot ornament from Gramz to put on her Grandparents tree.

She enjoyed drinking her lemonade with we drank tea.

She got a cheese sandwiched shaped like a Christmas Tree.

Being the picky eater that she is she only ate the bread and strawberries.

After we ate we shopped around at the little shops around. I was able to find a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament just like Ryleigh's for Reese next year.

For generations plus one more on the way!

After shopping I was off to get an ultrasound to see where the kidney stones were hiding. Once my doctor looked at the pictures she saw that my left kidney had actually tried to make two kidneys when I was developing as a baby. One of the kidneys on that side was infected and being blocked by a stone and there was a stone in my right kidney but not causing any problems. Next week I had surgery. More information about this in a later post.

Christmas Extravgansa

Last week Ryleigh and I went to visit Gramz at her school to see their Christmas Extravgansa program. At the end of the program the teachers did the Christmas Macrana. Ryleigh learned this dance in school and was excited to go out there and dance around.

2nd Dentist Appointment

Ryleigh had her 6 month check up at the dentist last week and everything went great. First they took some x-rays of her front teeth. Next time they'll take pictures of the back ones.

Looking at her teeth on the computer screen.

This time she got to lay down the the table to have her teeth cleaned. They have TVs on the ceiling for the kids to watch a movie while getting their teeth cleaned. She was a little scared at first but warmed up to the idea when the hygienist gave her cool pink glasses she was happy to lay down and have her teeth cleaned.

Afterwards the dentist came over and checked her teeth giving her a good report!

Cousin's Graduation and the Warren Family Christmas

Saturday, December 17 was a long and busy fun filled day!

We started our day at 4:30AM by getting ready to drive to Marshal for our cousin, Chad's, college graduation at East Texas Baptist University. Ryleigh was a trooper and woke up in a good mood.

After the Graduation we met up with the rest of the Cox family to take some pictures and exchange some presents with the kids.

Here's Ryleigh with her cousins Issac and Daniel.

Around noon we were off to Athens for the Warren Family Christmas.

My cousin Amanda wore these box presents in a parade recently with a friend and thought it would be cute to have Ryleigh and Jackson get in them. I think they made cute Christmas presents.

Ryleigh loved the headband bow!

While Reagan, Abby, and Jackson played the piano Ryleigh sang. It was really cute!

The kids had lots of fun playing together.

Here's Great-Grammy and her grandbabies: Abby, Ryleigh, Jackson and Reagan.

It was fun getting together with the family and celebrating Christmas.

Christmas Program

Thursday Ryleigh had her first Christmas Program at school. When I picked her up from school to get her ready for the program the lady at the front desk let me know that she was singing loud and proud with her hands on her hips during practice.

Since her class was the youngest performing they went first. They walked out in a straight line with their hands behind their backs. It was so cute.

The teacher got them all lined up and made sure Ryleigh was in the middle. She was looking around in the audience looking for me and Gramz. She smiled real big and waved when she saw me.

Her class sang two songs "Jingle Bells" and "Frosty the Snowman". Ryleigh was defiantly the loudest! It was so cute seeing them all sing their songs.

Since her class was first we chose to leave after their performance to get out of the way and beat the traffic out of the small parking lot.

It's a Girl - Reese Emerson

This is a conversation between Ryleigh and I this morning:
Ryleigh: "What are we doing today?"
Me: "Going to see your baby brother or sister."
Ryleigh: "Is it my birthday party?"
Me: "No, why?"
Ryleigh: "Because you said I would see my baby brother or sister at my birthday party."

Well it looks like we'll be pulling down all the girl clothes from the attic! Bring on more bows and girly things we're having another baby girl!

Reese Emerson will be here sometime in May. Due date still set for May 12, 2012.

After our appointment today we headed to Buy Buy Baby and Target to register for a few items we will need to take care of a new baby in the house. I'm happy I was able to find a double stroller that's compatible with a Chicco car seat.

We're looking forward to meeting our new baby girl! I'm crossing my fingers for red hair this time.

Ryleigh's Big Girl Room

Today we finally finished Ryleigh's big girl room. The last things to finish the room were the dresser and shelfs above the dresser. She's been sleeping in the new bed since October 30 and loves it!

She needed a book shelf to hold all her books! She loves to read.

I mod podged her name again with different colored paper.

And the frames.

We ended up getting the bed for a steal at Kids Pottery Barn. The bed was on sale then we had a 20% coupon, then the sales clerk told us there was a floor sample in the back in good condition that came with another discount! We ended up getting the bed for just $200! We also purchased a trundle for under the bed. This way when she has sleepovers her friends have a place to sleep.

While Daddy and Papa were moving in the dresser Gramz was polishing her nails. She asked Gramz to put some polish on her tummy then wanted me to take a picture. She's so silly!

She Can Write Her Name!

She did this all by herself! I just told her what letter to write. We still need to practice the "G"but I think she did great at just 3 years old!

18 Weeks!

So these past two weeks have been just a bit rough for a pregnant lady!

During week 16 I got food poisoning (or at least thats what I think). Monday night around 8:00 I got sick to my stomach but just thought it was the pregnancy. But as the night went on and I got even more sick I realized I felt like I did when I had food poisoning a few years ago. Luckily I had some nausea pills left over from my morning sickness stage. Brandon gave me one and the nausea stopped for the moment. By morning I thought I was going to be able to make it in to work but got sick again. Finally around noon I was able to keep down fluids and soup.

Then starting week 17 and throughout the entire week I've been in and out of the ER with pains and vomiting. It started Sunday night when I woke up with a stabbing pain in my left side. About an hour later when I found myself in the bathroom I knew what was wrong... kidney stones! I had the same thing happen to me about this time when I was pregnant with Ryleigh. Last time the pain went away after a few hours so I thought I'd wait it out. But by 2:30 my pain was worse than labor pains and I didn't have anything left in me to throw up. I called the on-call doctor at my doctor's office and luckily it was my doctor that night. She told me to go to the ER to get fluids and pain meds.
Since I live about 30 minutes from my doctor's hospital she said the hospital nearest me would be ok. That night the people were nice and took care of me. Gave me a warm blanket, pain meds, nausea meds and water to sip on.
They did a sonogram of my kidneys since I'm pregnant there wasn't anything thing else they could do. They couldn't see any kidney stones but saw an infection one might have caused in my kidneys.
I went home and my mom stayed with me on Monday. Even with the pain meds the doctor gave me and the nausea meds I was still in pain and throwing up. By 4:30 I was still in so much pain I called my doctor again. There was talk about admitting me to Labor and Delivery but we decided to up the amount of hours I could take the pain medicine and went from there. By morning I had little pain so by Wednesday morning I thought I was good to go back to work.
Then Wednesday night about 8:00 the pain came back even with pain meds and around 1:00 I was throwing up again. So after another call to the doctor we went back to the ER. This time the people weren't as nice. They basically said there's nothing we can do and sent me on my way.
Around 11:00 we had a sonogram done of the baby and saw my doctor. The baby is doing great and developing well. She said not to worry about the baby. However, my pain could take a week or so to completely go away. She ended up giving me suppositories to see if that would help keep down fluids. She said by morning if I was still sick that she would admit me to the hospital so I could get an IV of fluids. As of Friday at 12:20 I've been able to keep down water and toast so that's good.
She want's me to take it easy for the next few days so I didn't go to work on Friday either. Wednesday was the only day I was able to make it to work this week. Needless to say I'm out of sick days at work.
Monday we'll be going back to the doctor for a check up with me and to see the gender of the baby!

We're thinking that all the club soda and lime that I've been drinking is the cause for all this pain. I am now a water and juice girl! I don't want this to happen again!

17 weeks 5 days - baby pictures!

Yesterday I had an unplanned visit to my doctor due to the kidney stones/kidney infection pains I've been having all week. (I'll tell the story in my bumpdate this week.)

Here are some pictures we got of the baby:
In this picture the baby is sucking on his/her pointer finger and has the thumb sticking out. It looks like he/she is trying to sign the "ILY" ASL sign for "I love you!"

Despite all the pain and cramps I've been having the baby is great! Weighing 1 lb now and wiggling all over the place. The baby is kicking me all the time now.

Monday is our scheduled appointment to find out the gender. She was going to go ahead and tell us yesterday but the baby was crossing his/her legs so we'll have to wait. Which I'm ok with because I really want Ryleigh to be there when she announces the gender. (She's got her heart set on a baby sister!)

Monday I should have some more photos and be announcing the gender!

North Pole Express

Yesterday Gramz and Papa took Ryleigh to the North Pole Express. She was so excited about going that she didn't take a nap during the day but ended up getting one on the way.

I know these are little blurry but I thought they were still cute.

Before boarding the train the crew put on a show for the kids. Ryleigh was up in front signing "Jingle Bells" right along with the singers.

Gramz and Papa said she enjoyed every moment of the ride. She was answering trivia questions, singing and dancing to the songs. She was having such a great time that others were watching her and enjoying the show.

Here she is with one of Santa's Elves

Santa came by and gave her a bell!

She even got to put on the conductor's hat!

She had fun ringing her bell.

She had a great time. I can't wait to take her next year.
