Spring Break!

Saturday evening around 6:30 we headed toward Destin, FL. We left at night hoping the girls would sleep most of the way. Ryleigh did however Reese did not! I would have rather flown (if we could have afforded it). 

Here's Ryleigh, Reese and Brandon as we are pulling out of the driveway. Everyone is excited to get to  Florida for Vacation! 

We finally arrive at the beach house at 7:30 AM on Sunday (remember this is with daylight saving time)

We stayed in a beautiful 3 story beach house. My mother in law personally knows the owner of this house. Unfortunately she's selling it so if we want to do Spring Break in Destin, FL again we may not be staying here. 

It was a beautiful day! I was even able to get in a 3 mile run on the beach! 

 That night we went to Margaritville for dinner. 

While we were on the beach on Monday the girls caught a LIVE jellyfish! It was really neat!

Once Reese woke up from her nap Brandon brought her down to the beach, which was just a short walk from the house. She DID NOT like the beach!

In the Beach House Community there was a "heated" pool. The kids had fun swimming around and Sha Sha was able to have her first "swim lesson" with Reese.

That night we went out to a seafood restaurant. 

Ryleigh enjoyed playing casino games on the iPad with Poppy. 

On Tuesday Brandon, his dad and I went Deep Sea Fishing. We had to get up early but it was so neat to watch the sunrise on the boat. Here the Deck Mate was throwing fishing in the air to get the birds to follow behind us. It was really neat to see them so close. 

I got the first catch of the day!

Brandon caught this Red Snapper but since they weren't in season he had to throw this beauty back.

This is a Queen Trigger fish. Nick the Deck Mate said this was only the 2nd one he's seen.  Unfortunately we had to throw this back too.

They called this fish "goggle eyes" We caught two of these but they also had to be thrown back. 

One we got back Nick sliced all the fish up between all of us on the ship. We ended up catching over 130 fish with 9 people fishing!

For lunch on Wednesday they went to eat Orysters and I stayed at the house with the kids so I could finish my book, "Burned" by Ellen Hopkins. 

After lunch we took the kids to 'The Track".  We rode go karts, played Put Putt and rode Bumper boats.

This was Caleb's first time to drive a go kart! It was so much fun! It was a three story track. Ryleigh rode with Daddy and Kaileigh rode with me. 

I didn't find out till we were on the Bumper Boats that there were water guns not the wheels! Needless to say I got WET!!!

That night we played "Apples to Apples". By midnight they were passed out. 

Thursday we all went to the Navel Air Base and went to the museum out there. While we visited Poppy bought some of my students have sworn into the Marines a gift.

When we got home the four of us changed and got ready to take pictures on the beach. Here's Kaileigh and Sha Sha swinging Reese. 

Reese didn't like the beach at all so we had to hold her in all pictures.

This picture shows you how much Reese enjoyed the sand. It didn't help that the sand was cold and it was 60 degrees outside.

After pictures we walked to the beach store near our house and got feathers in our hair.

That night Brandon got some pictures of us sitting around enjoying our last night of vacation. 

Friday Morning around 10:00 we headed home. We finally arrived home around 11:00 PM!
